The best burgers in town
Berlin is a lively city, somewhere between scene, culture and quirkiness. The capital's burger shops are as diverse as the various districts of Berlin. From street food trucks to Michelin-starred restaurants, everyone's taste is catered for here. Our top 5 best burgers in town:
WINDBURGER
The neighborhood on Stuttgarter Platz in Charlottenburg is as colorful as life and one of these side streets is home to by far the coolest burger shop in the district: The Windburger. For soul and funk, classics such as cheeseburger and crispy chicken are prepared here in accord, but also our own creations such as the London Burger (with fried egg and bacon) or the Charlottenburger (with vegetables). Windburger also offers various veggie burgers for anyone who would rather avoid a meat patty. The fries also come in a variety of variations and you can immediately see why the shop is so popular and almost always rummaged full. The Windburger delivers down-to-earth burgers at absolutely fair prices. You're not committed to creating high-quality art, but satisfying the hunger of people who simply want to eat a good standard burger and hang out to loud beats in a living room.

BBI - BERLIN BURGER INTERNATIONAL
When people are already raving about the shop on the bus on their way to BBI, the operators seem to be doing everything right. On the side street, the small, tranquil burger shop is barely noticeable, and without the beer benches in front of the door, you wouldn't even know what kind of works of art you could miss there. El Gordonita? The godmother? Or would you rather probably the highest cheeseburger in all of Berlin? At least 190 grams of meat, plus several types of salad, several types of cheese and sometimes ingredients that you won't find in every burger shop, such as basil mayonnaise, sweet potato chips, rhubarb compote. The creativity attracts not only burger fans, but also gourmets. Scene stop! The very best cream in terms of taste, but due to the crowds in the Neukölln neighborhood, you can always expect a little waiting time. However, there is an original NES in the corner, so anyone who wants to play through Super Mario Bros. 3 can pass a little time with it. BBI doesn't have a quick burger on the claw, but there is a visual and tasty burger explosion like nowhere else.

TOMMI'S BURGER JOINT
The complete contrast is in the triangle between Rosenthaler Platz, the Natural History Museum and Bernauer Straße. The handmade burgers with organic Black Angus meat are also available from food trucks (for example on the Urban Spree) and impress with their simplicity. There are burgers, nothing more and nothing less — but of absolute top quality. A homemade roll, a decent piece of meat - medium fried, of course - lettuce, tomato, onions and sauce. No question about it - cheese or bacon if needed. Roasted onions, gherkins and other sauces are also available for self-service at the shop counter on Invalidenstraße. In addition to classic burgers, a vegetarian or vegan alternative is also available.
Originally from Iceland, the burger comes at a price, but there is no such absolute homemade experience anywhere else. Tommi tastes like your dad is showing you how to make a real burger. And who can do it better than the dear Mr. Papa?

SHISO BURGER
Shiso Burger is definitely not a conventional fast food place: Here, classic burger art meets traditional Asian cuisine. Try the best of both worlds and be inspired by the delicious burger creations and Asian desserts. The special thing about Shiso Burger is the fine ingredients that are packaged in the homemade buns. The meat comes from Angus beef; if you wish, you can even order Wagyu Beef, one of the most expensive types of meat in the world. For seafood fans, there are variations with salmon, shrimp or tuna on the menu, and there is also no shortage of meat alternatives. Delicious pickled tofu patties or, as a secret tip, toast burgers with portobello mushrooms give you a whole new taste experience that will change your idea of burgers forever.

BURGERMEISTER
Admittedly... inviting looks different, after all, the Burgermeister has spread out in a former urinal. But the incredible number of people standing in line, waiting for their burgers or already enjoying them makes one thing clear: It's worth coming here! And it's incredibly fast for the crowds at the Burgermeister. It takes less than ten minutes between ordering and eating. It is the perfect burger to-go (also thanks to the packaging) or for a quick lunch. The Burgermeister is the definition of street food and, in addition to the classic cheeseburger, also delivers his own creations such as the “master of all classes” (double everything!) or the “Hausmeista” with fried mushrooms. Vegetarian options also contribute to the diversity. There is also this street flair - greasy, right in the palm of your hand, not a real seat. Neighborhoods, taste and character collide between Neukölln, Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain. Berlin as it lives and breathes.
